When Is Purdue Day: Purdue University friends and grads need to stay in touch with each other, and the Purdue for Life Foundation helps make that happen. The foundation was set up on March 11, 2020, so that members and Purdue could have stronger ties. In the years after college, it is in charge of running and planning all events for alums. It works with students and friends to raise money for the school.

The University Development Office and the Purdue Alumni Association’s duty to connect former students are now part of the Purdue for Life Foundation. It has many members, such as the President’s Council, the John Purdue Club, and the Office of Industry Partnerships. The foundation gives Purdue alums lifelong learning programs and on-campus housing options as part of a complete plan to stay connected with the school community for life.

Things to Do While at Purdue

The university’s hard work to raise money culminates in Purdue Day of Giving. People who have donated or plan to give on this day are expected to show up, and Purdue will make sure the atmosphere is nice. Along Memorial Mall, a number of university-sponsored groups strongly promote different parts of Purdue. For example, students write about how Purdue has helped them reach their goals and help those in need on the “What has Purdue allowed you to achieve?” wall.

The dining courts’ wider range of options adds to the general mood. Unexpected treats like cotton candy, snow cones, and grilled corn were brought to Ford Dining Court to make the party better, and due to people’s generous donations throughout the day, over 42 different University groups received an amazing $13,695,951. Most of the money went to the Lyles School of Civil Engineering. The College of Veterinary Medicine, the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and the School of Civil Engineering came in next. This is an interesting amount because it’s almost twice as much as the $7.5 million that was raised the year before.

Purdue Day Of Giving 2023

On April 27, 2022, the 9th annual Purdue Day of Giving, they brought the Purdue community together to give. They made $68.2 million! There was a shuttle run to drop out of the Purdue Engineering Day of Giving 2022 on the last day. People ran 2.022 miles each to help their fellow Boilermakers as part of the #PurdueDayofGiving event.

Back in 1869, John Purdue gave space and money to build a school so that young minds could learn.

On April 27, the university’s ninth annual Purdue Day of Giving, people were asked to help it take its next big step forward. The reaction was overwhelming.

During the day, students, teachers, staff, and alums who took part in social events and photo ops got drinks, snacks, and souvenirs.

The ninth Purdue Day of Giving took place on September 9, 2023, with the theme “Meet The Challenge.” It happened on April 27. Donors gladly agreed to help the university take its next big step.

Since its start in 2014, the Purdue Day of Giving has become more well-known. To date, it has raised about $310 million in gifts.

Giving back to pay it forward is an important value at Purdue, and it has opened up doors for all of us. One hundred sixty-seven gifts worth more than $1.4 million were given to the Lyles School of Civil Engineering during the 24-hour event, and the 2022 Purdue Day of Giving raised an amazing $68.2 million, which was a new high.

The Impact of Purdue Day of Giving

Tomorrow, April 27, is Purdue Day of Giving. One of the most important events for earning money for the university is PDOG, which stands for Purdue Day of Giving. At this event, student groups can raise money that they can use to give other students a wide range of experiences and chances.

The money students make during PDOG is very important for their professional growth, thanks to events put together by the Office of Professional Practice (OPP). At Purdue, for example, OPP runs a number of MILESTONE classes where students can learn useful tech skills like how to program Arduino and use CAD. You can use these skills in a lot of different job settings. Additionally, OPP hosts a number of networking and career development events that give more than 5,000 students the chance to gain valuable work experience. Giving to PDOG helps pay the Teaching Assistants who teach professional skills like elevator pitches, interview techniques, and getting ready for a variety of jobs.

Staff and faculty at Purdue can use PDOG funds to visit companies to learn more about possible job paths in a number of areas. One good example is the trips that ENGR 103 students can take over spring break to Joby Aviation and Lucid Motors. In addition, the OPP plans events to honor the job achievements of several students, which shows how the work of the PDOG has helped.

Purdue Day of Giving 2022 raises record $68.2 million

In its ninth year, Purdue Day of Giving asked donors to help the school take the next big step forward, and on April 27, it raised an amazing $68.2 million. The previous high point was $52.5 million, so this set a new record for the most money raised in one day in higher education.

The 24-hour internet and social media-focused event raised a record-breaking 26,726 gifts, bringing the total amount given on Purdue Day of Giving since its start in 2014 to $309.7 million. Mitch Daniels, president of Purdue, said in a statement, “Amazing things happen when the Purdue family rallies.” It makes me happy, but not surprised, that this record-setting take has led to so much kindness. Thanks to everyone who gave money to help us keep working to take the next big step.

Units from Purdue’s Northwest, West Lafayette, and Fort Wayne campuses, as well as Purdue Global, an online school for working adults, are all part of this fundraising effort. All Indiana counties were able to raise money for extension programs because their local county extension offices also took part. New to Purdue in 2022 were the Office of Engagement, the Purdue Military Research Institute, and the Cratch Institute for Tech Diplomacy.

University celebrates 10th Purdue Day of Giving Wednesday (April 26)

AUGUSTA, INDIA—Purdue Day of Giving, which will happen on April 26, is going to be the tenth year. It will give all Boilermakers the chance to support Purdue’s upcoming big progress.

This online fundraiser runs 24 hours a day and focuses on social media to help the Purdue Northwest, West Lafayette, Fort Wayne, and Purdue Global schools. Today is the 10th year of Purdue Day of Giving. The school is excited about the big steps that are still to come and also proud of the things that have already been done, thanks to the help of many generous donors.

Everyone in the Greater Lafayette area is welcome to give on Wednesday. This includes students, graduates, teachers, staff, friends, supporters, parents, and retirees. No matter how small your donation is, it can make a big difference in the life of a Boilermaker who is going to change the world.

A campus-wide team run in West Lafayette starts at 12:15 p.m. There will be student groups and Purdue celebrities there, like President Mung Chiang, who will lead the last part of the event. Memorial Mall will have “Giant Adventures” from 4 to 8 p.m. You can do things like zorb fights, a 20-foot stunt jump, lawn games, a 360-degree photo booth, food trucks, and more.
