When Is National Apprenticeship Week 2022: During National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), leaders from business, labor, education, and the government all over the country get together to plan activities that show how successful and important Registered Apprenticeship is. The well-known and industry-driven training model is a big part of rebuilding our economy, improving racial and gender justice, and helping areas that haven’t been given enough attention.

The NAW gives people a chance to talk about how important Registered Apprenticeship is as a way to get new workers and solve big problems with the current workforce in the country. This includes work to fix the care economy, rebuild the country’s infrastructure, meet the needs of the essential supply chain, train people to work with renewable energy and improve cybersecurity.

During National Apprenticeship Week, we celebrate the skilled workers of America, who are known around the world as the best. We also stress how important it is for unions, employers, and other groups to run apprenticeship programs. These projects give workers the chance to learn important trades and skills that will help rebuild America for the 21st century.

NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK

We are thankful that the 9th Annual National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) went so well! As we get ready for next year’s 10th National Apprenticeship Week, excitement grows! Put November 18–24, 2024, on your calendars, and start planning your events right away! During National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), leaders from business, labor, education, and government hold events to celebrate the successes and importance of Registered Apprenticeship in rebuilding our economy, promoting racial and gender equality, and helping communities that aren’t getting enough help.

The National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is a chance to highlight how well Registered Apprenticeship, a well-known and industry-driven training model, works as a key talent pipeline. As we rebuild our country’s infrastructure, meet the needs of our supply chain, support a clean energy workforce, modernize our cybersecurity response, and deal with problems in the care economy, this pipeline is a key part of solving some of our country’s most pressing workforce problems.

A Proclamation on National Apprenticeship Week, 2022

National Apprenticeship Week is a time to honor the hardworking people in the United States who are known as some of the best in the world. We stress how valuable apprenticeship programs are that are run by employers, unions, and other diverse groups. People need to learn the skills and trades needed to rebuild America in the 21st century, and these programs are a big part of that. For many people, especially those who don’t have college degrees, apprenticeships are a key way to get stable, well-paying jobs. Registered apprentices can make money while learning useful skills.

These things, especially those done by local unions, make sure that our country has the best-trained, most prepared, and most talented workers for both current and future industries. This includes renewable energy, health care, and information technology, among other things. My economic philosophy is based on building an economy that works for everyone, from the bottom up to the top down and from the middle out.

To make this happen, my American Rescue Plan and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law give states, businesses, labor groups, and workforce intermediaries a lot of money to help them start, develop, and grow Registered Apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeship programs. This passion can lead to work as an electrician, a pipefitter, a carpenter, or in many other fields.

A look at the facts for National Apprenticeship Week 2022

As evidence shows, the lack of apprenticeship opportunities and a mismatch in skillsets are big reasons why about half a million young people in the UK are unemployed. EDT has consistently pushed for adequate and accessible apprenticeships. What exactly is an apprenticeship, though, and why should we support them?

In its most basic form, an apprenticeship is a paid job that combines classroom learning with hands-on experience. An apprentice is fully employed from the first day, working with experienced professionals to learn job-specific skills, make money, and get holiday pay. Apprentices are also given time, equal to one day a week, to study for their jobs on a budgeted basis. People can get a qualification through this one-of-a-kind system without having to worry about student loans or tuition costs.

In spite of what most people think, apprenticeships offer a wide range of opportunities. About 78,000 apprenticeships in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) were open in England during the 2020–21 school year. Health, Public Services, and Care made up almost a third (30.3%) of apprenticeship starts that decade, making it the most popular sector for apprenticeships.

Also, apprenticeships have five levels, from stage 2 to stage 7, and each level is equivalent to a school level. For example, getting 5 GCSE passes with grades A* to C is the same as reaching Intermediate Level 2, while Levels 6 and 7 are the same as getting a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

National Apprenticeship Week 2022 is Here!

From November 14–20, which is the 8th Annual National Apprenticeship Week, we want to show our appreciation for the apprentices, employers, labor groups, industry leaders, educational institutions, equity-focused partners, and communities that make Registered Apprenticeships work. The National Apprenticeship Act turns 85 years old this year. It’s a great time to celebrate the progress made in expanding, modernizing, and diversifying apprenticeships while also looking forward to exciting new developments in the years to come.

Today, Secretary Walsh and I will start National Apprenticeship Week celebrations in Chicago. During the week, we will talk about a lot of different topics, such as registered apprenticeships in new and growing industries, pre-apprenticeships and youth apprenticeships, making apprenticeships available to women and underrepresented groups, and public service apprenticeships and apprenticeships for veterans. We start our activities by going to a YouthBuild USA Town Hall to learn more about how Registered Apprenticeships can change the lives of young people.

After that, we’ll cross the city to a business roundtable where thought leaders from companies like Aon, McDonald’s, Zurich, and more will share their ideas. They will talk about why they want to start and grow Registered Apprenticeship programs in high-demand business areas like technology, finance, banking, and more.

When Is National Apprenticeship Week 2022

Apprenticeships are a great way for many people, especially those who don’t have college degrees, to get well-paying jobs. Registered apprentices may be able to make money while they learn. Local unions have helped make these programs possible. They make sure that our country has the best-trained, best-prepared, and most capable workers for industries like clean energy, health care, and IT.

A big part of my economic plan is to support Registered Apprenticeships so that the economy grows from the bottom up and the middle out, which is an economy that should help everyone. To help states, employers, labor groups, and workforce intermediaries start, improve, and grow Registered Apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeship programs.
