Rockwall Founders Day 2016: Rockwall Founders Day 2016 was a great event held in the beautiful Texas town of Rockwall. This cute lakeside town has a history that goes back to 1873. It’s the right place for an annual festival that celebrates its history. We are excited to be at Harry Myers Park, which is only twenty minutes east of Dallas, for a day of celebrations and community energy.
The now-favorite Rockwall Founders Day Festival was inspired by the pretty towns that make people think of Stars Hollow. The high hills, shady trees, and still ponds in the park make it a great place for a fun-filled family day, and this year’s event looks like it will be even better. Founders Day is a celebration of everything that makes Rockwall special, from the bright food trucks serving a wide range of tasty treats to the fun activities and entertainment.

Diamond Rio and Stoney LaRue to perform at Rockwall Founder’s Day Festival
The 2016 Rockwall Founders’ Day Festival, which honors Rockwall’s 162nd birthday, will be a great time. Diamond Rio and Stoney LaRue, two famous country music artists, will be at the top of the event’s amazing list. Rockwall is known as the Live Music Capital of North Texas. The Founders’ Day Festival, which has more than 100 live music events every year, is one of the best events in the area every year. There will be free performances all Day at Harry Myers Park in Rockwall on Saturday, May 21, as part of this year’s events.
The Parks and Recreation Department of Rockwall has put on an event to honor the city’s founding history for the thirteenth year in a row. The headliners, Diamond Rio and Stoney LaRue, are set to bring a record crowd, more than the nearly 8,000 people who came last year. Diamond Rio will be on stage. Their hits include “Beautiful Mess” and “Meet in the Middle.” Stoney LaRue, a country singer from Texas, will start the show with hits like “Oklahoma Breakdown.”
The party outside starts at 10 a.m. and has a lot of events that are good for families until nine o’clock at night. At different times during the Day, different bands will play before the main acts in the evening. People who go can also choose from a variety of unique places to eat and shop.
Rockwall Founders Day Festival on May 15th
A Texas country music star named Wade Bowen will lead a family-friendly festival that lasts all Day. Jack Ingram will open the show. There are also Coral Creek, Graycie York, and the Roomsounds on the bill.
From 10 a.m. on, there will be a free Kid Zone for everyone to use. Over ten bouncy houses, carnival games, a rock climbing wall, face painters, and Creature Teacher workshops with different species every hour will be open from noon to three p.m. and are all free from noon to five o’clock. At the event, more than a dozen food trucks and vendors will sell a wide range of foods, including popcorn, ice cream, snow cones, BBQ, corn dogs, funnel cakes, and more.

At Living History Exhibits, you can learn how to do things from the past, like spin, blacksmith, cook in a Dutch pot in a Chuck Wagon, and listen to a Civil War field doctor.
You can do things like churning butter, making a ninja or rag doll, scratch-bashing clothes, planting cotton seeds in Rockwall’s only cotton patch, bee tinting, scavenger finding, and other classic games. Please take advantage of this chance to go back in time and enjoy the beauty of earlier times.
Rockwall extends teen curfew through 2016
At its first meeting in December, the Rockwall City Council decided to add three more years to the existing three-year teen curfew law. With the council’s approval, Ordinance 10-33, which came out on December 6, 2010, will now be in effect until December 31, 2016.
Anyone younger than 17 who isn’t at home from 11:01 p.m. to 12:01 a.m. breaks the law about teens’ curfews. It’s also six in the morning. Beginning at 12:01 a.m. Any Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Up until 6 a.m. It’s fine to use Saturday or Sunday. There are, however, a few well-known exceptions to the rule, such as
Their child’s parent is with them.
The minor travels with an extra adult who has parental approval to do so.
The child needs to get something done right away.
The minor is going to or coming back from a school, place of worship, or other activity that the government, a church, a civic group, or another group like this control.
The minor legally works or goes straight to or from a legally allowed place of work without stopping or going off track.
Rockwall Founders Day Festival
Stars Hollow has a lot of the rustic charm of Rockwall, Texas, a beautiful lakeside town that was started in 1873 and is only twenty minutes east of Dallas. The Founders Day Festival is one of the best events of the year. It takes place at the beautiful Harry Myers Park, which has a pond that sparkles, hills, and trees that provide shade. As a huge Vampire Diaries fan, the fair is one of my favorite events every year and has a special place in my heart.
The Rockwall Founders Day Festival is free to enter, but parking costs $5. People who come to the site are given a card that makes it easy for them to come back. It’s helpful that there is a shuttle service between the fairgrounds and the farmers market in Rockwall’s historic downtown. The event has been set up differently in the past, and this year’s better location is especially welcome.
When you get there, the different food trucks in the parking lot are a nice sight. The fruit stand Papa Bears served cool drinks, as well as the Legacy BBQ TX, the Kona Ice truck, which served shaved ice; the roasted corn and turkey legs stand; the kettle corn truck, the fun truck, which served fried Oreos; curly fries, and corn dogs, the Mexican food truck La Rosita, and the stand that looked like a bunch of tiny doughnuts.Â

Founders Day Festival. Our yearly Founders Day Festival brings local bands along with food trucks and vendors for a giant celebration. In 2023 The Bellamy Brothers & Easton Corbin rocked the main stage. Kids activities include bounce houses, rides, yard games, ninja course and an interactive animal show.
Rockwall has some fun events coming up that will keep people there and people who come to visit happy. As part of the San Jacinto Music Series, local acts play on the San Jacinto Plaza every Friday and Saturday night from May to October. See the exciting music of artists from the DFW area play at The Harbor every Thursday night from May to July at Concert By The Lake.
Mark your calendars for the Rib Rub Run & Roll event at Harry Myers Park. It will be a tasty time. There is a 5k race, a fun run of 1 mile, live music by local bands, BBQ competitions, and more at this event every year. In Rockwall’s historic downtown, there is also a display of cars.
Join local artists and singing groups for a holiday sing-along, and make sure to attend Santa Claus’s special visit at the ceremony behind City Hall to light the Christmas tree. Every year, the Founders Day Festival has local bands, food trucks, vendors, and fun things for the whole family to do, like rides, bounce houses, yard games, a ninja course, and an animal show where you can connect with the animals.
When was Rockwall founded?
April 17, 1854
The name was accepted and the town of Rockwall was platted on April 17, 1854. When it was platted, Rockwall was part of Kaufman County. Rockwall was located in the panhandle of Kaufman County, and conducting business meant traveling the long road from Rockwall to Kaufman.
Rockwall was formed on April 17, 1854, and is in Kaufman County. The town had trouble in its early years because Kaufman was so far away. Rockwall decided to break away from Kaufman County and make its own in order to improve its economy. The first people to live in Rockwall did so in the 1840s. They came by foot, on horseback, or in mule-drawn carts along the Republic’s National Road.
In its early years, Rockwall, which is near where the East Fork of the Trinity River meets the Texas Highway 183, grew slowly. Since there was no safe way to send farming goods abroad, cattle ranching became the main business. The hamlet stayed a small village, with a few shops in the center and huge farms all around the central square.
When the Missouri, Kansas, and Texas train lines opened, they made a lot of things better, which helped the economy grow and the people grow. Rockwall’s population doubled between 1880 and 1890, according to the census. This was a major turning point in the town’s past.

Danquah), known as the “Doyen of Ghanaian politics,” was in this group. So were Edward Akufo-Addo, Ebenezer Ako-Adjei, Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey, and William Ofori Atta. All of them made important historical contributions to Ghana’s fight for freedom.

Around the water, there are parks with public boat docks that make it easy to get to the Lake.
The town is appealing for more reasons than just its beautiful scenery and lively live music scene. In the middle of Rockwall, the beautiful downtown area and the busy hotspot known as The Harbor work together to make a great urban atmosphere. There are two well-known wineries in Rockwall: San Martino Winery & Vineyards and Siren Rock Brewing Company. They make the town more adorable. These places have tasting rooms where people can taste local beers and wines while having fun and catching up with friends.
