Free Dump Day
Every year, the Urban Hub of Victorville sets up three “Gratis Dump Days,” where people in the city can get rid of their old furniture, mattresses, yard waste, lumber, scrap metal, and other trash for free.
The free dump days for 2024 are set for March 9, July 20, and November 16, 2024.

People who are taking part are asked to empty their vehicles. The goods must be put into containers on the property; they can’t be unloaded on the ground. During Gratis Dump Day, people are asked to separate grass cuttings, cardboard, and scrap metals and put recyclables in the right bins so that trash doesn’t end up in the landfill.
Business workers, business trash, and business cars will not be allowed into the event.
At this time, we will not take wheels, T.V.s, laptops, electronics, or dangerous materials. At Urban’s Recycling Drop-off Center, you can leave wheels and gadgets at any time. The HHW Center is a place where people can get rid of dangerous trash from their homes.
April 2023 Dates for Free Dump Days at Lockwood Landfill Announced
Residents of Northern Nevada can take advantage of many free dump days at Lockwood Landfill thanks to Waste Management’s kindness. The events that have been set for the year 2023 are
From Tuesday, April 18 to Saturday, April 22, and from Tuesday, April 25 to Saturday, April 29.
It’s important to remember that Lockwood Landfill can’t be reached on Sundays. As planned, business hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on those days.
The following things are examples of items that are not allowed:
Things that use refrigerant, like refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners
Electronic gadgets (like T.V.s, monitors, microwaves, and so on)
Things that are used in construction, like concrete, wood, stucco, brick, and soil
Cathode Ray Tubes

Things that are dangerous or poisonous
Parts of machinery like engines, transmissions, and so on.

Free ‘Dump Day’ to be held at two San Diego-area locations this month
San Diego County officials have announced that on Saturday, October 21, there will be a free “discard event” in two locations across the county.
Caltrans San Diego said on X, which used to be called Twitter, that the Kearny Mesa Maintenance Yard (7179 Opportunity Rd) and the Caltrans yard in Escondido (1780 West Mission Road) would both have a variety of dischargers available to take household trash that isn’t dangerous and unwanted items.

During Free Day, normal business hours will still apply.
Freedom Day is held on the last Thursday of every month. Each family can have one pickup truck full of trash, and they can also bring a small utility trailer that isn’t bigger than a pickup truck. Still, if a utility trailer is out in use, the vehicle pulling it cannot also be carrying trash for dumping.
Only solid trash from homes will be accepted.
On Free Day, each family can only do one load. Regular dumping fees will apply to all trips back on Free Day, with no exceptions.
All fridges, freezers, and air conditioners must come with a certificate from a qualified refrigeration expert stating that the refrigerant agent has been removed.
Commercial and contractual carriers are not allowed to dump goods for free.
Putting trash in the ground is only allowed in certain places.
Raleigh County Landfill is not responsible for any harm that happens on its land.
If you don’t follow these rules, you will have to pay to have your trash taken away or be kicked off the land.
Random waste checks may be done on all shipments, as required by Federal EPA law.
